You Like Horse?

Okay, this is a test. Most of you know how averse I am to technology, so setting up this blog has been the cause of some serious nail-biting. I´ve got to admit that it´s been pretty easy so far, but still....

Additionalliy, I suppose this would also be an appropriate time to explain the title of this blog. The title, "You like horse?" is a question that I am faced with seemingly every day here in Guadalupe. And to me, it is a simple, kind of silly illustration of the vast differences between my home and here. My students still, after three weeks, are surprsed at the fact that I don´t ride horses, I don´t hunt, I don´t know how to pick chestnuts or olives, and the list goes on. Is there anything analogous for outsiders visiting Cleveland (do you like Browns?) or New York (do you call someone asshole on subway???).

So anyway, let this serve as a lesson. If/when you ever travel to a small Extremaduran town, be prepared to respond, over and over again, "Yes, I like horse!"
